About Little Athletics

Little Athletics is a uniquely Australian sport that's encouraged kids to run, jump and throw since it began in Victoria in 1964. It's now a national movement, with approximately 15,000 children taking part each year — all built around one motto: Family, Fun and Fitness.

Children compete in track and field events suited to their age, building movement skills, sportsmanship and a love of being active. In Queensland, the sport is run by Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ), and Ormeau is one of many affiliated centres across the state.

Multi-Class Athletes

Little Athletics is for every kid, however they compete best. Our club welcomes multi-class athletes — children with a disability who compete alongside their peers, often with modified or adapted events — as part of the full Little Athletics program. If you'd like to chat about how we can support your child to take part, reach out any time. Every kid deserves a place in the pack.
