OPEN DAY 2026-2027 SEASON
Ormeau Little Athletics officially kicked off preparations for the 2026/27 season with our Open Day on Saturday 8 August, welcoming new and returning families to the Ormeau Woods State High School oval.
It was fantastic to see such a great turnout, with plenty of new families coming along to find out more about Little Athletics and get a taste of what Saturday mornings at Ormeau are all about.
A Taste of Little Athletics
Throughout the afternoon, children had the opportunity to get involved and try a range of activities, including warm ups, running events, long jump and other athletics activities.
For many of our younger visitors, it was their first experience with Little Athletics, while returning athletes enjoyed getting back out on the oval and catching up with friends ahead of the new season.
Our committee, coaches and volunteers were also on hand throughout the day to answer questions about registrations, training, competition mornings, uniforms and what families can expect when joining Ormeau Little Athletics.
Of course, there was also plenty happening away from the events, with families enjoying a sausage sizzle and our prize draw adding a little extra excitement to the afternoon.

A huge thank you to our committee members, coaches and volunteers who helped with planning, setting up, registrations, activities, the BBQ, answering questions and packing everything away at the end of the day.

The 2026/27 Season Is Almost Here
Our Open Day was just the beginning, with the 2026/27 Ormeau Little Athletics season officially commencing Saturday 22 August.
Weekly competition is held on Saturday mornings at the Ormeau Woods State High School oval, with training available on Thursday afternoons.
Little Athletics is open to children from Tiny Tots through to U17s, with athletes of all experience and ability levels welcome.
We are looking forward to another season filled with personal bests, new friendships, plenty of learning and, most importantly, family, fun and fitness.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our 2026/27 Open Day such a wonderful start to the season. We can't wait to see you back at the oval!
